DESCRIPTION:Feeding a growth mindset using your own goals.\nNIACC students are invited to join this Student Entrepreneur engagement activity - the event is open to all students and recorded by Zoom for access. In-person attendance must abide by NIACC mask and physical distancing guidelines. \nLocation: Pappajohn Center\, Room #117 \nParticipants will create a collage of images and words by cutting out of various magazines. The Vision Board represents the student’s wishes and goals\, intended to serve as inspiration and motivation. It also helps clarify what you want out of your life because it forces you to put something down. It can help define your short and long-term goals and guide the decisions you make along the way. \nStudents have fun searching for the correct images and words\, gluing to poster board. It can be very simple or more complex\, own it! Once finished\, take a screen shot and make it your phone or laptop screensaver! Williams\, will share her proprietary 3 step framework for creating\, maintaining and measuring food business success. \nWe will look at the 3 pillars of all successful food businesses: the brand\, the financial model and then the food- as a means of creating the strategic road map to success so that you can know where your efforts are going and how to make money on your success. \nRegister\n  \nDeagon B. Williams\, Proprietor of Culinary Business Strategy\, is a chef and food business consultant who uses broad and deep industry knowledge and an unbound intuitive curiosity to her clients with their projects to realize the next level of business opportunity and success. Deagon completed culinary school at La Varenne in Paris followed by an intensive apprenticeship program all while eating her way through the streets of Paris and the European continent. Deagon was part of the first wave of American women to work their way up the kitchen ladder in high-end kitchens. She began honing her management skills and style beyond her culinary education as the Executive Chef at the Heritage House on the Mendocino Coast at the age of 24. She later rounded out her culinary education with a BA in Sociology and an MBA with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship and Marketing. \nShe brings 20+ years of experience as an Executive Chef\, event planner\, business owner\, business development specialist\, mentor and consultant to Culinary Business Strategy as well as counsel with SBDC clients. DESCRIPTION:Introduction to 3D Printing is brought to you by the Innovation Workspace Initiative\nFused-deposition modeling (“FDM”) 3D printers are incredibly versatile machines\, capable of creating everything from board game pieces to prosthetic limbs.  As 3D printers become more common in businesses\, schools\, and homes\, it is important to know how to use these machines for personal or professional projects.  In this workshop\, you will learn all about what FDM 3D printing is\, how it works\, common FDM 3D printer anatomy\, the advantages and disadvantages of this type of additive manufacturing\, and how to operate NIACC’s FlashForge Creator Pro printers safely and effectively. \nPair this workshop with Introduction to Onshape to unlock the full potential of 3D printers by learning to design for 3D printers. \n  \nRegister\n  \nInnovation Workspace Initiative\nThe Innovation Workspace Initiative is a project to bring a makerspace to empower your creativity through hands-on\, project-based learning.
